Participants will receive a brief introduction and demonstration on basic letterform strokes, covering both upper and lowercase letters. They will also learn how to create their lettering masterpiece by blending colours using watercolor and waterbrushes.

Inner Landscape: delves into the subjective realm of individual thoughts and feelings, unveiling the unique tapestry of one’s internal world. Japanese Philosophy (Three Faces): Participants will delve into the Japanese philosophy of ‘Three Faces’ through an experiential art activity using canvas and acrylic paint, aiming to reflect deeply on the underlying philosophy. Drawing inspiration from abstract-expressionist techniques, participants will engage in an intuitive process, exploring their self-identity and character across different conscious states, situations, and environments. Kintsugi Inspired: Participants will craft their own kintsugi-inspired artwork using canvas. Drawing from the philosophy of kintsugi, the goal is to create a safe space for personal healing and acceptance of imperfections, guiding participants through a transformative journey. They will craft an artwork resembling porcelain, deliberately tear it to symbolize “breaking,” and then mend the torn pieces with gold, symbolizing the transformation of imperfections into something valuable. Through this process, participants visually embody the pursuit of healing and resolution, emphasizing the potential for reconstruction and highlighting the capacity for eventual healing and recovery.

Participants will engage in a specially designed activity to learn the process of creating a lighted canvas painting, combining the fun of acrylic painting with therapeutic enjoyment. Chinese Calligraphy: participants will learn the art of calligraphy in a relaxed, engaging, and enjoyable manner. The lesson begins with an introduction to the background, followed by instruction on writing different strokes and composing characters. Essential rules will be covered, along with techniques for proper presentation. Through this structured outline, participants will acquire calligraphy skills effectively while having fun.

Rainbow Calligraphy: Participants will delve into the drawing principles of rainbow calligraphy, exploring techniques such as color toning to enhance their creations. Participants will explore traditional Chinese festive crafts, experiencing the medium’s tactile qualities and its transformation into craft products. They’ll engage in:

  2. Paper Cutting: Delving into the history of paper and its modern applications, participants will create intricate paper cuttings of Chinese knots.

Participants explore the art of upcycling by transforming colorful candy wrappers into stylish zipper pouches. They’ll learn innovative ways to repurpose these wrappers for creative reuse, resulting in unique and eye-catching pouches. Perfect for stocking stuffers, these candy wrapper pouches offer a fun and eco-friendly way to showcase favorite candies while adding a touch of flair to everyday accessories.

Participants will learn to transform used or new tote bags / pouches / box / bottles into trendy and personalized accessories for daily use. They’ll be guided through the process of designing and decoupaging canvas bags / pouches / box / bottles, with the option to embellish them further. Once dried, the artistic functional items to be used / gifted.

Participants will receive guidance on wrapping the metal hoop, stringing the doily to the hoop, and attaching fabric scraps to complete the dreamcatchers.

Using egg cartons as the base material, participants will cut, paint and assemble these into a fish / Japanese doll. Participants can further decorate their creation (fish / doll) in their own preferred style. Each participant will take home one piece of artwork.

Plant hammering is an eco-friendly art form where the natural pigments from flowers, leaves, and other plant materials are transferred onto fabric or paper using gentle hammering techniques. This process creates stunning, organic prints that capture the beauty and essence of the plants themselves. Embark on an eco-friendly journey into the art of batik painting, where participants will explore the craft with ease and sustainability. Guided through the process, they’ll use wax to create intricate patterns on cloth, all without direct contact with heated wax. They’ll receive instructions on crafting the tote bags and decorating them using provided embellishments. Each participant will take home a unique and fashionable t-shirt tote bag, making a sustainable and personalized accessory.

Participants will transform used snack wrappers into stylish and practical pouches. This workshop focuses on upcycling, teaching how to repurpose discarded wrappers into durable, eco-friendly accessories.

Participants will receive an introduction to crafting flower a hand bouquet / table arrangement. They’ll be guided through arranging the floral, combining colors, and wrapping / arranging it, resulting in a completed bouquet / table arrangement to take home.

The instructor will delve into the characteristics of Peranakan tile motifs, elucidating the meanings and symbolism behind various elements. Participants will learn techniques for tracing and transferring images onto the tiles, as well as applying multiple layers of paint to attain a smooth surface. This immersive experience offers a unique opportunity to master the craft of creating mesmerizing, one-of-a-kind designs that elegantly float on water. Bring your own Suminagashi coasters home, showcasing your newly acquired skills.

Summer Parasol art offers a serene and enjoyable activity ideal for both family gatherings and corporate team bonding sessions. Participants will use umbrellas as their canvas, coming together to paint intricate and beautiful designs. Each individual will create their own unique piece of umbrella artwork, which they can proudly display at home or in the office. This activity fosters creativity and collaboration, providing a memorable experience for all involved.

Participants will craft their own stained-glass effect suncatchers using acrylic paint and acrylic sheet. Suncatchers, known for their ability to bring positive energy and light into spaces, serve as reflective and refractive ornaments. Through this hands-on activity, attendees will have the opportunity to create personalized suncatchers, harnessing the power of sunlight to spread rainbows and flecks of light in their homes or workplaces.

Participants will craft miniature landscapes featuring stunning succulent plants. Participants will then embellish their creations with an assortment of natural pebbles and sand, resulting in visually captivating pieces of home décor. Dive into the world of thermal plastic modelling in this hands-on craft workshop designed for beginners and enthusiasts alike. Participants will explore the unique properties of thermoplastic materials, which become pliable when heated and solidify upon cooling, allowing for endless creative possibilities.

Tote Bag Painting: participants in this workshop will have the opportunity to engage in a relaxing and creative free-style painting session on tote bags. The workshop begins with a brief introduction and demonstration of techniques for designing and creating simple designs on the bags. Participants will then be encouraged to unleash their creativity as they plan and paint their own unique designs on their tote bags.

Tshirt Painting: instructor will guide participants through various paint brush and stencil techniques specifically tailored for applying designs onto tee shirts. Through demonstrations, attendees will learn how to effectively use these techniques to create unique and personalised designs. With the acquired skills and inspiration, each participant will then brainstorm and develop their own tee-shirt design idea. They will have the opportunity to bring their vision to life by painting their design onto their tee shirt.

Stamping: Participants in this workshop will have the opportunity to transform a plain tote bag into a stylish and personalized accessory. Through learning how to design and create their own stamp, participants will be able to add unique patterns and motifs to their tote bags. At the end of the workshop, each participant will take home their custom-designed tote bag along with their handmade stamp, ready to showcase their creativity wherever they go.

Printing (Wagara – Japanese Themed): Participants in this workshop will explore “Wagara,” traditional Japanese patterns dating back to the 8th century. Inspired by nature and historically used to adorn Japanese garments, these patterns carry cultural significance. Through this session, participants will learn about various Wagara designs and carve their chosen pattern onto a stamp. They will then transfer the pattern onto a tote bag using stamping techniques, creating a unique and culturally inspired accessory to take home.

Printing (Ryukyu – Japanese Themed): Embark on a journey into the unique textile art form of Ryukyu Coral Printing, originating from the picturesque Ryukyu Islands of Okinawa, Japan. This innovative technique captures the intricate patterns of coral reefs, transforming them into stunning prints on fabric.

Participants will delve into the fascinating world of ukuleles as they embark on a journey to paint, assemble and customize their very own instrument. Guided by experienced instructors, they will gain insight into the different components of the ukulele, understanding its anatomy and functionality. Additionally, participants will learn essential tuning techniques to ensure that their ukuleles produce harmonious sounds. By the end of the workshop, participants will take home a personalized ukulele crafted with their own hands.

Instructor will provide a step-by-step demonstration, guiding participants through the process of weaving using the provided strings and securing the loom upon completion. Participants will be able to selec t their preferred string colors and begin weaving their own looms.

Participants will delve into the art of wire sculpturing crafting human figure sculptures using wire. Participants will sketch dynamic poses for their human figures and proceed to twist wires to form a foundation shape. They will shape and add depth and forms using the wire. Participants will take home their unique human figure sculptures.

Participants engage in a creative and interactive workshop focused on decorating wooden jewellery boxes through painting. They learn to select designs, choose colors, and apply paint and add embellishments to enhance the box’s aesthetics. This hands-on experience fosters artistic expression and produces unique and aesthetically pleasing jewellery boxes.

Participants will design unique coasters by creatively brainstorming and drawing repeated patterns on a tile. With this guidance, participants will proceed to create their own repetitive patterns to form beautiful images on the tile.

Our rates start at $30 per person, with special discounted pricing available for MOE schools (Minimum 100 students). For sessions where a parent-child or a volunteer-beneficiary collaborate on a single artwork, the rate is still based on a single pax rate.
